A Store Fit out: From Bleek to Chic

Shab & Shadi is a designer boutique in the bustling area of The Rocks in Sydney, owned by two sisters. They had been in the space for 12 months at this point and the decor wasn't supporting their rebrand from gift store to high end clothing boutique  The store needed a stylish trendy look with high end finishes that reflected the designer product in-store. Most importantly, the owners needed to have a space that they loved, as the previous fit-out and paint job was seriously lacking in inspiration.

Before

Inspiring spaces

The new fit-out needed to be in-line with the elevated rebrand of Shab & Shadi. The new additions of designer clothing, handbags, sunglasses and jewellery meant that fixtures, shelving, ceiling paint and display units needed a makeover.

The design process

First step in the process is finding inspiration and mood boarding to ensure the feel is 100% what the client is dreaming of. The mood board for Shab & Shadi was full of delicious shades of pink (Owner Shadi adored the existing bubblegum pink counter), soft gold accents, textured fabric and marble stone. Next step: designing. The store desperately needed a change room, so we designed a modern square-bent railing suspended from the high ceiling as a feature piece.

Installation

Solving the problem of working with these bolted-in fixtures led us to get creative with additional embellishments. Custom made gold framing was added to each tall white fixture, adding a unique touch of shine. We altered the configuration of shelves and hang space, ensuring there was flow throughout the product categories.

Displays

Hands on merchandising

The beautiful bespoke glass display unit seen here is one of two that were designed to house the luxury accessories in-store. Made from a subtle gold tone sprayed material, these units added high end vibes store.Once the new fixtures were all in place we merchandised the stock with Shadi giving VM training on product groupings and displays.

The beautiful end result

The suspended change room worked out exactly to plan! We added in button hooks in the same gold tone that was replicated throughout the store. We sourced curtains that had a velvet look without the weight which added another texture in and matched with the gorgeous dusty pink ottoman.

The amazing transformation of this space has been one of the best projects to date. Shadi one of the owners writes the review below:

“Working with you was an absolute dream. You delivered our vision and more. You are amazing at your work. Thank you so much xx”
